Рядовой. В вооружённых силах rank — ряд военнослужащих, стоящих бок о бок, а file — шеренга, колонна. Простых солдат называют other ranks (ORs), т. е. они не офицеры, существуют ещё non-commissioned officers (NCOs) — военнослужащие сержантского состава.
